ANZAC DAY OF­FICE CLO­SURES

WORKS UP­DATE – MEL­BOURNE STREET

Road main­te­nance on Mel­bourne Street, Mul­wala, from Have­lock Street east­wards to the canal cross­ing has com­menced.

The NSW Government is fund­ing this $800,000 project to pro­vide a smoother, more durable road sur­face and re­duce fu­ture main­te­nance re­quire­ments.

This work is part of a broader street im­prove­ment project be­ing car­ried out and co-funded by Fed­er­a­tion Coun­cil. Fed­er­a­tion Coun­cil is car­ry­ing out the work on be­half of Roads and Mar­itime Ser­vices, which in­volves re­moval and re­place­ment of the ex­ist­ing road sur­face. Coun­cil will also be in­stalling new kerb and gut­ter­ing, up­grad­ing park­ing at frontage of Pur­tle Park and im­prov­ing drainage as­sets.

Work com­menced on Mon­day 5 March and is ex­pected to be fi­nalised by the end of June 2018, weather per­mit­ting. Coun­cil will be work­ing be­tween 7.30am and 5pm from Mon­day to Fri­day and if re­quired, be­tween 8am and 2pm on Satur­days. Coun­cil will no­tify res­i­dents in ad­vance if work is re­quired out­side of these times.

How will the work af­fect you?

Across the works area, changes to park­ing and prop­erty ac­cesses will be re­quired. Limited park­ing will be avail­able along the project length. There will be some noise as­so­ci­ated with this work, but ev­ery ef­fort will be made to min­imise the im­pact on res­i­dents and busi­nesses.

Traf­fic changes

There will be tem­po­rary traf­fic changes to make sure the work zone is safe. A re­duced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place dur­ing the ex­tent of works be­ing un­der­taken. Lane clo­sures will be in place and may af­fect travel times. Mo­torists are ad­vised to plan their jour­ney, al­low ex­tra travel time and fol­low all signs.

CLUBGRANTS 2018 - AP­PLI­CA­TIONS NOW OPEN

The ClubGRANTS pro­gram is now open. Com­mu­nity groups are in­vited to ap­ply for fund­ing through the ClubGRANTS (Cat­e­gory 1) Scheme. ClubGRANTS will fund lo­cal projects that ad­dress the fol­low­ing pri­or­i­ties: - • Com­mu­nity Wel­fare and So­cial Ser­vices

• Com­mu­nity Trans­port

• Aged Ser­vices

• Youth Ser­vices

• Emer­gency Ac­com­mo­da­tion As­sis­tance / Home­less­ness • Emer­gency Ser­vices Groups oper­at­ing in Vic­to­ria or out­side of the coun­cil area may ap­ply for fund­ing as­sis­tance if they are able to demon­strate a ser­vice is be­ing pro­vided to NSW res­i­dents.
