Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Classies -

One of our club legends, Xav Leslie, will equal Pascoe Ellis’ games record of 265 games this Saturday against Wangaratta Rovers. What a great achievement for a modern day footballer. As a club we will celebrate Xav’s career when he breaks the record against Myrtleford the following weekend at JC Lowe Oval.

We also have Ladies Day on the 12th May. Anyone wanting a ticket can contact Stef Clarke.

The following week we host the O&M Interleague game on Saturday, May 19. There will be two football games against Western Region (formerly Footscray & District) open age and U19. It’s also likely that the O&M netball representative sides will play exhibition games again Goulburn Valley, open age and U17.

YFNC has six players named in the initial squad of 39 for the U19’s – Ryan Bruce, Matt Casey, Macauley Lonergan, Isaac McMillan, Ronan Pritchard and Zac Smith. We also have six players in the initial open age squad for football, Tyler Bonat, Ryan bruce, Lachlan Howe, Brandon Symes, Harrison Wheeler & Mark Whiley. Let’s get down there and show some support for our local talented players.

Thursday night teas are in full swing at the clubrooms from 6pm. All members and supporters are very welcome to come along. It gives you a great opportunity to mingle with fellow supporters and players.

Next weekend sees the annual Junior Carnival at Vic Park, make sure you get around the future stars and show them some support. Games start at 9:30am, with lots talented youngsters playing netball and football.
