Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Classies -

Well what a weekend it was! Xavier Leslie equaled Ken “Pascoe” Ellis’s games record (265) and did it in style. So that means this weekend when we play Myrtleford at home he will break the record and become the highest senior games player our club has seen, that is a great achievement!

We have a few things planned to help Xav celebrate this in style, so make sure you are down at the Grove to cheer him on.

We also celebrate Ladies Day this Saturday, so anyone still wanting tickets can call into Mint Boutique and see Paris Bonat. It is always a great way to sit back and enjoy each others company.

Last Saturday saw us welcome back Matt “Biceps” Grinter to the seconds, always good to watch him run around and direct traffic. We also had a cameo from Craig “Hornet” Frauenfelder, the old boy still has it.

Four of the U18’s boys stepped up and played in the seconds and did a great job, so much so they kept Wang Rovers scoreless. We saw the A grade unfortunately suffer their second loss for the season but on a positive note they did finish the game with three 15 year old’s and a 16 year old, Eliza York, Tilly Kennedy, Iniana Frauenfelder and Laura Zanin. The future of our club looks bright!

This Thursday we have the footballing girls catering, so make sure you are there to enjoy.

Anyone wanting to help out at the club can contact the office on 5747 8190, there are jobs for everyone. Go Pigeons!
