Yarrawonga Chronicle - - News -

Despite travelling up to 500 kilometres in any given shift local police officers are happy with their local sector.

Mulwala Sector is made up of six police officers who cover roughly 2050 km2 of land from Mulwala to Oaklands and Urana.

Mulwala Sergeant Grant Churchin said it is around 250 kilometres to drive around the border of the area they cover.

“It is not unusual for us to do 400 to 500 kilometres in a shift,” he said.

“You do get to see some of the best land- scapes in NSW from the Murray River to the expansive farming plains in Urana.

“Mulwala Sector is one of the best police locations to be stationed at in NSW with a very low crime rate and great local communities who support their police in ensuring a safe place to live.

“The Mulwala Police Station phone number is 03 5743 8099 and if you have any local issues you wish to raise with Police please give us a call or drop in for a chat,” Sgt Churchin said.

Mulwala Sector Police officers recently gathered together for a photo in front of Lake Mulwala prior to it being refilled.
