EDIT RIAL Traffic lights solution

Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Letter To The Editor -

Anyone that travels west along the Murray Valley Highway into the centre of Yarrawonga can see the Woods Road intersection is one of the worst and most dangerous intersections in town as well as being a disaster waiting to happen.

With the eastern side of Yarrawonga growing rapidly with new commercial and residential structures, this intersection can’t receive a makeover quick enough.

VicRoads have recognised that over the last decade there has been a significant increase in traffic volumes and the highway has seen an increase in crashes.

Now with the Federal and Victorian Governments partnering to inject $20 million for works to increase safety along the highway between Echuca and Yarrawonga, the inclusive planning for a roundabout on this intersection will decrease the number of dangers and take away the risk of a possible fatality.

News of a safer intersection is welcoming but with further growth east of Yarrawonga and the move of more sporting and schooling facilities on the southern fringe, is a roundabout enough?

Traffic lights may just be the better solution.
