Best: Hunter Surrey, Hunter Frauenfelder, Lachlan Phillips, Zac Fraser, Charley McKenna. The Yarrawonga Under 14’s bounced back from their first loss of the season with a con- vincing victory over the Albury Tigers in perfect conditions at JC Lowe Oval on Sunday.

Hunter Surrey was the standout performer of the day, the athletic big man displayed great running power and skill level to kick 5 goals playing in the ruck and across the half forward line.

The coaches were particularly impressed with Surrey’s willingness to take the game on and bring teammates into the game through handballs.

Jyda House continues to lead by example in the forward line with unselfish play, the tal- ented forward set up numerous goals before kicking one himself in the final quarter as the Pigeons team play proved decisive.

Hunter Frauenfelder dominated the half back line, the talented bottom age players marked everything that came his way, attacked the ball and provided enormous tackle pressure.

Lachlan Phillips showed his versatility moving from the back line to the forward line taking strong marks across half forward and finishing with two goals.

Midfielders Charley McKenna, Oliver Ridley and Sam Hemphill worked tirelessly winning numerous possessions and pushing back to ensure the defenders had support.

Xavier Walker, Mac Pendergast and Harry Barker all played well on the wing, with all three players attacking the ball at ground level and using their clean hands to put the team to advantage.

The Pigeons enjoy a bye next week before travelling to Wodonga on Sunday, July 15 to take on the Raiders.
