ClubMulwala Outdoor Bowls

Great news this week with Cliff Morton through his operation and resting at home, also good to see Dodi around the club again.

On the bowls front Tuesday Social was well supported in fine weather and sunshine, some very competitive and close matches played with 3 x 2 game winners and the result decided on a countback, winners on the day were Barry Pitt and John Thurling, runners up Greg Fisher and Rhonda Livingstone.

Saturday once again saw the bowlers from VRI arrive, I think this is at least their 10th annual visit to our club, they are great fun to have around, the weather on the day was to say the least miserable, two teams of fours from both VRI and our club braved the weather, the winners on the day were club members Peter Humphreys, Geoff Casson, Graham Albert, and Anita Albert.

Remember social bowls are on each Tuesday and Sunday, weather permitting, visitors are very welcome, it would also be good to see more members joining in.

Membership: Membership renewal is now due with letters sent to all existing members, if you are new in town and want to join a great club we would love to have you join us, experienced and new bowlers are most welcome.

Pennant: Sheets are up on the notice board for interested players to put their names down for next pennant season, we invite any new players to join us.

Yarrawonga Bowls

Results for the past week were:

Monday, July 2: Winners – D Ellis and J Ellis. Runners Up – P Humphries and D Dighton. The Jackpot was not claimed and will be carried forward to next Monday.

Wednesday, July 4: Winners – B Liddell, N Borg and R Phillips. Runners Up – K Gribble, B Quinn and P Gibbons. The Jackpot was not claimed and will be carried forward to next Wednesday.

Saturday Bowls was cancelled due to low numbers and bad weather.

We have been very lucky so far this winter getting most of our games in.

It is nice to see us getting some rain at last though.

Next week’s games are – Saturday Social, Monday 2-4-2 and Wednesday Jackpot triples.

All these games start at 12.30pm and names need to be down by 11am on the day.

To all, good health, good bowling and good fellowship.
