Tungamah Bowling Club to celebrate 60 years
Tungamah Bowling Club will be starting the 2018/2019 season with Opening Day also being the 60th Anniversary of the Club on Saturday 6th October 2018.
The club extends an invitation to all past and present members their families and sponsors to celebrate 60 years of bowling at Tungamah.
Tungamah Bowling Club has been very successful on the greens well as on a club level and are thankful for all whom have made this possible over the years.
The support of the Moira Shire Council and the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort will also be recognised for their support enabling the bowling club to install a new sprinkler system for the green.
After arrival at 1pm there will be a game of social bowls and the club hope to have as many participate as possible. After this the formal part of the day will follow at approximately at 3pm followed by afternoon tea.
Tuesday, September 11 had the YMGCR Croquet Club hosting a social day with 52 players from Albury, Benalla, Bright, Corowa, Rich River, Shepparton, Twin City, Walla Walla, Wodonga, Wangaratta and our own Yarrawonga group contesting for best score of the day, hoop in one prize, raffle and door prizes.
Yarrawonga’s own Tim Redfern was the winner of games with Shirley Fowler runner up for the day.
Bev Zuber from Wodonga Croquet Club was winner of the “hoop in one” actually scoring 2 long hoops in one stroke on the day.
The club raised $1140.20 on the day all of which is being donated to assist Drought Relief, the Yarrawonga Golf Club is generously meeting this amount in a joint donation.
The very pleasant weather helped in making this a most enjoyable day for all in attendance and the club extend their thanks to all.
