Tungamah Bowl­ing Club to cel­e­brate 60 years

Tungamah Bowl­ing Club will be start­ing the 2018/2019 sea­son with Open­ing Day also be­ing the 60th An­niver­sary of the Club on Satur­day 6th Oc­to­ber 2018.

The club ex­tends an in­vi­ta­tion to all past and present mem­bers their fam­i­lies and spon­sors to cel­e­brate 60 years of bowl­ing at Tungamah.

Tungamah Bowl­ing Club has been very suc­cess­ful on the greens well as on a club level and are thank­ful for all whom have made this pos­si­ble over the years.

The sup­port of the Moira Shire Coun­cil and the Yar­ra­wonga Mul­wala Golf Club Re­sort will also be recog­nised for their sup­port en­abling the bowl­ing club to in­stall a new sprin­kler sys­tem for the green.

Af­ter ar­rival at 1pm there will be a game of so­cial bowls and the club hope to have as many par­tic­i­pate as pos­si­ble. Af­ter this the for­mal part of the day will fol­low at ap­prox­i­mately at 3pm fol­lowed by af­ter­noon tea.

Tues­day, Septem­ber 11 had the YMGCR Cro­quet Club host­ing a so­cial day with 52 play­ers from Al­bury, Be­nalla, Bright, Corowa, Rich River, Shep­par­ton, Twin City, Walla Walla, Wodonga, Wan­garatta and our own Yar­ra­wonga group con­test­ing for best score of the day, hoop in one prize, raf­fle and door prizes.

Yar­ra­wonga’s own Tim Red­fern was the win­ner of games with Shirley Fowler run­ner up for the day.

Bev Zu­ber from Wodonga Cro­quet Club was win­ner of the “hoop in one” ac­tu­ally scor­ing 2 long hoops in one stroke on the day.

The club raised $1140.20 on the day all of which is be­ing do­nated to as­sist Drought Re­lief, the Yar­ra­wonga Golf Club is gen­er­ously meet­ing this amount in a joint do­na­tion.

The very pleas­ant weather helped in mak­ing this a most en­joy­able day for all in at­ten­dance and the club ex­tend their thanks to all.
