Footy boots for good cause

Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Front Page - BY ROBERT MUIR

Do you have any football boots in good condition which no longer fit or you no longer use?

If so, it would be very much appreciated if you could clean them up and hand them into Sacred Heart Primary School’s general office.

Community-minded youngster, Mitch Adkins of Mulwala, wants to help the Aboriginal community in Arnhem Land where former local Bernie Price is a school teacher.

“My two biggest passions are helping people and the Richmond Tigers,” 11-year-old Year 6 student Mitch said.

“I got in touch with my school principal to see if we could collect used football boots or any football equipment and see if the local clubs may get onboard to help.”

Mitch’s proud parents are Lisa and Steve Adkins. “Mulwala Football Netball Club has donated water bottles, singlets and polo shirts which were very much appreciated,” Lisa said.

“And Vicki Bye’s shop Time for a Coffee has donated $20 which was also very much appreciated.”

Football boots and any other footy equipment are being called for by Mitch Adkins, for a worthy cause.
