Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Front Page -

Two local Yarrawonga residents have been appointed to the Yarrawonga Library Project Steering Committee as representatives of the Yarrawonga Town Hall Precinct and Library Project Community Reference Group.

Jan Parker and Janet Schwartz were appointed after being selected via a vote of members of the Reference Group at their October 9 meeting.

The Moira Shire October ordinary meeting report states the Steering Committee’s terms of references provides for two representatives from the Reference Group to join the committee to enable views and ideas shared between the two groups.

The Steering Committee will compromise of three Moira Shire Councillors and one Moira Shire Management, three Goulburn Valley Regional Libraries representatives and five community represntations, one from a community organisation, two individuals and two from the Reference Group.

The two representatives will be asked to commit time to attend meetings of both the Steering Committee and Reference Group which allow the Reference Group to continue conversations of their ideas and concerns with the Steering Committee.

It also allows the Reference Groups views to be fairly represented and to speak to all points raised in the groups meetings.

Community representation on the Steering Committee provides a link between the community, GV Libraries and Moira Shire in the delivery of this important project for the community.
