Locals do well in Judy Dalton Cup
The Tennis Victoria Judy Dalton Cup was held in Yarrawonga on the weekend as an event for girls who are 13 and under.
Six regions competed, with the Goulburn team including three young Yarrawonga girls, Polly McCrae, Morgan McCrae and Scarlett York.
This is a very strong event with two players to be selected to represent Victoria against teams from other states across Australia.
The Goulburn team battled hard over the two days and played some great tennis as well as showing very good sportsmanship where they were able to finish a very close 6th.
Also at the weekend a boys 13 and under team representing the Goulburn Region played the John Fitzgerald Cup at Mildura.
Two of the boys who represented the Goulburn region are from Yarrawonga in Jack Bassett and Fraser Bennett.
They were able to finish a very credible 3rd place out of nine teams.
Summer competition will commence on November 15 at 6pm.
Register your team, interest in joining a team or place your name on the emergency list with Anna on 0478 621 834 by November 9.
The cost this year is $50 per team, being a saving of $192 as the weekly $4 playing fee per player is no longer paid.
The money raised will go towards trophies and the Christmas break up.
Enjoy your tennis.
Six Regions (Central Highlands, Loddon Campaspe, Mornington Peninsula, Central Gippsland, North East and Goulburn) were represented at the Judy Dalton Cup. Representing the Goulburn team in purple shirts were left to right; Alanna Birch (Euroa), Scarlett York (Yarrawonga) Morgan McRae (Yarrawonga) and Polly McRae (Yarrawonga).
Morgan McCrae only had eyes for the ball.
Yarrawonga local Scarlett York played well in the Goulburn team.
