ClubMulwala Outdoor Bowls
Fine weather and good bowls were the order of the day this week.
All pennant teams were away this week. Tuesday pennant was played in good conditions: A2 were away to St James whose greens were presented in wonderful condition, this is a great little club to play at, strong competition a good hosts.
On the day St James was just a little too strong, winning two of the three rinks and a win overall.
B1 travelled to Swanpool where some very tough competition was encountered, with Swanpool winning two out of three rinks and coming out on top overall.
Saturday saw B2 travel to Benalla where they really showed their class coming away with strong wins on all rinks.
B5 travelled to Swanpool, where they were successful on two rinks, coming away with an overall win.
Great to see our teams are starting to put together some consistent results, however we can not rest on our laurels, practice is important to continuing success.
Our pennant selectors will meet each Tuesday after completion of the day’s competition to select teams for the next Saturday and Tuesday matches.
Team sheets will be on the notice board late Tuesday afternoon, please check the teams.
If you find you have been selected and are unable to play contact John Thurling (57432368) straight away to advise him, so that alternative arrangements can be made.
Practice is on every Thursday from 3.30pm all members need to make an effort to come to training, as our early pennant results show there is room for improvement and consistency.
November 11 Remembrance Day Tournament this is a major event for our club with substantial prize money on offer, there are still a couple of places available, why not put together a team, (must be mixed gender) and enter, full details are on our notice board.
