$700,000 for lo­cal road im­prove­ments

Moira Shire has wel­comed the an­nounce­ment of more than $700,000 of fund­ing by the Vic­to­rian Gov­ern­ment un­der its Fix­ing Coun­try Roads pro­gram.

“Ear­lier this year we ap­plied for fund­ing and we are de­lighted to have the fund­ing con­firmed this week,” said Moira Shire Mayor Li­bro Mus­tica.

The an­nounce­ment in­cludes fund­ing to: • Up­grade the in­ter­sec­tion at Forges Pump Lane and Mur­ray Val­ley High­way, west of Yar­ra­wonga, and

• Widen of the Lake Rowan Road in Lake Rowan.

Coun­cil is con­tribut­ing more than $100,000 to the projects.

“With the fund­ing now con­firmed, we will take ad­van­tage of the warmer months to com­plete the works by the June 2019 dead­line.

”We will share fur­ther in­for­ma­tion about the in­di­vid­ual projects in­clud­ing the time­lines shortly,” said Mayor Mus­tica.
