The­Ge­neal­o­gist adds doc­tors’ records

The­Ge­neal­o­gist has re­leased oc­cu­pa­tional records cov­er­ing more than 100,000 doc­tors and den­tists from the mid-19th to early 20th cen­turies. The records list all qual­i­fied prac­ti­tion­ers at the time, and in­clude names, ad­dresses, dates of reg­is­tra­tion and qual­i­fi­ca­tions.

Avail­able in the new col­lec­tions are the Med­i­cal Direc­tory for 1848; the Med­i­cal Reg­is­ter for 1861, 1873, 1875, 1891 and 1903; the Den­tists Reg­is­ter for 1888 and 1937; and lists of fel­lows of the Royal Col­lege of Physi­cians 1908 and old stu­dents from St Thomas’ Hos­pi­tal, 1936.
