TheGenealogist’s 1921 collection
With online access to the 1921 census not expected until at least January 2022, TheGenealogist has compiled its own 1921 ‘census substitute’, in the form of more than a million records from 1921 trade directories. This new collection offers fully transcribed and searchable records from 26 regions of England (many of them entire counties) plus the Channel Islands, and Aberdeen in Scotland. Among the famous names in the data are retail magnates Harry Gordon Selfridge and Jesse Boot, and authors AA Milne and JM Barrie.
Meanwhile the site has also released more than 1.3 million parish records for Northumberland, some dating back as far as 1560.
