Azerbaijan has put forward Baku's Olympic Stadium to host the UEFA 2019 Champions League final and Europa League final.

The Europa League final, meanwhile, will be contested by Baku and two other stadiums - the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Sevilla and Turkey's Besiktas Arena.

The UEFA announced on June 8 the list of national associations that nominated their candidature and submitted the bid book before the deadline for final meetings of club tournaments and the UEFA Super Cup matches, which will be held in 2019.

The Baku Olympic Stadium was constructed to host the 2015 European Games and had recently welcomed the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.

The World Congress of Stadiums2017 has recognized the Baku Olympic Stadium as "The best new stadium in the world".
