Coun­try to join Fes­ti­val of Tra­di­tional Cul­ture in Uzbek­istan

Azer­bai­jan will join a unique fes­ti­val of tra­di­tional cul­ture O‘zbe­gim to be held in Tashkent, Uzbek­istan. The cul­tural project will fea­ture the di­ver­sity of Uzbek na­tional tra­di­tions and cus­toms, ap­plied and fine arts, na­tional cui­sine. The fes­ti­val will recre­ate the at­mos­phere of folk fes­ti­vals and com­bine the fair of folk crafts, el­e­ments of folk games and fun, folk­lore show - in all its glory to demon­strate the rich cul­tural her­itage of the Uzbek peo­ple.

The first deputy min­is­ter of cul­ture and tourism of Azer­bai­jan, Vagif Aliyev, and the di­rec­tor of the Azer­bai­jan Na­tional Li­brary, Kerim Tairov, will at­tend the fes­ti­val sched­uled for Septem­ber 7-11, Trend Life re­ported.

The fes­ti­val pro­gram in­cludes a gas­tro­nomic fair "Tandir show", a show of rope walk­ers, a fash­ion show, mas­ter classes in ap­plied arts and crafts­men’s fair, a con­cert of folk­lore mu­sic.

A sig­nif­i­cant event of the fes­ti­val will be prepa­ra­tion of the largest pi­laf in the world with a vol­ume of al­most 8 tonnes. More than 50 chefs from all over Uzbek­istan will cook de­li­cious Uzbek dish. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the Guin­ness Book of Records will ar­rive for reg­is­tra­tion of the record.

The main event of the fes­ti­val will be the pre­sen­ta­tion of the book O’zbe­gim in the Re­gency Ball­room of the Hy­att Re­gency Tashkent ho­tel com­plex with the par­tic­i­pa­tion of dis­tin­guished guests, diplo­matic staff, rep­re­sen­ta­tives of lo­cal and for­eign me­dia.

The limited book-al­bum ded­i­cated to no­ble and mag­nan­i­mous Uzbek peo­ple with its cen­turies-old his­tory will be pre­sented within the fes­ti­val.
