Baku Sum­mer Jazz Days wrap up with spec­tac­u­lar con­cert

BAd­dress­ing the event, French Am­bas­sador to Azer­bai­jan Aure­lia Bouchez said that new in­ter­na­tional project pro­motes the rap­proche­ment of cul­tures of peo­ples and coun­tries.

The host of the evening, ra­dio and TV pre­sen­ter Rahib Az­eri spoke about the tra­di­tions of jazz in Azer­bai­jan.

The fes­ti­val closed with spec­tac­u­lar con­cert of renowned French mu­si­cians- Jacky Ter­ras­son (Piano) and Stephane Bel­mondo (trum­pet) with their new project ti­tled TERRAMONDO (Mother).

The mu­si­cians ap­peared on the stage of In­ter­na­tional Mugham Cen­ter and wowed the au­di­ence with their per­for­mance.

The main secret of their suc­cess is that they have been friends for over thirty years, and dur­ing this time the mu­si­cal and emo­tional har­mony of two souls and hearts has won jazz fans at their more than 150 con­certs in more than 20 coun­tries around the world.

Jacky Ter­ras­son (Piano) and Stephane Bel­mondo (trum­pet) mes­mer­ized spec­ta­tors with their ex­tra­or­di­nary tal­ent.

More­over, Terramondo project is ded­i­cated to all moth­ers of the world, as well as to women who re­placed the mother.

Baku Sum­mer Jazz Days pre­sented a lot of pleas­ant sur­prises for its guests. Five con­certs with mu­si­cians from dif­fer­ent coun­tries were or­ga­nized as part of the project.

New jazz project was held by the pro­ducer agency Premier Art Man­age­ment with the Min­istry of Cul­ture and Tourism.

The first day of Baku Sum­mer Jazz Days was marked by the per­for­mance of Is­raeli guests- one of the most widely dis­cussed trum­peter Avishai Co­hen and his quar­tet, which in­cludes the most tal­ented mu­si­cians Jonathan Avishai (piano), Barak Mori (bass) and Ziv Ravitz (drums).

In­ter­na­tional Mugham Cen­ter hosted a con­cert of na­tional pi­anist Elchin Shiri­nov and a trio of fa­mous Hun­gar­ian jazzmen of An­dras Des (per­cus­sion), Mar­ton Fenyvesi (elec­tric & acous­tic gui­tar), and Matyas Szandai (Dou­ble bass) on June 5. This is an in­ter­na­tional jazz project that was re­peat­edly demon­strated at for­eign fes­ti­vals.

Amer­i­can funk bass player and singer Nik West gave a con­cert on June 7.

The foyer of the In­ter­na­tional Mugham Cen­ter show­cased an ex­hi­bi­tion of young Azer­bai­jani artists who were in­spired by the jazz mu­sic.
