Briefly describe the evolution of your blog.

Started back in 2011, Cloud of Lace has been initially featuring my personal lifestyle. However, after it gained several Wordpress blog readership awards, and over 26k organic followers during its first year live, I decided to take things to the next level, and start writing more professionally, adding themed shoots and well-researched lifestyle topics.this year, with over 45K blog followers, I have just rebranded the blog, re-launching it with a quite unique design, and even more exclusive categories.

How did you first decide to launch?

Being a Digital Media consultant myself, I have always been fascinated with what the massive amount of shared knowledge that blogging has to offer, from exposure, PR, to personal and professional development. So I decided to start my own blog as a personal challenge to work on my own self. Being the introvert that I am, putting myself out there in the infinite international blogosphere was challenging, but it has brought me countless rewards on the personal level, as well as professionally.

What makes your content unique in your opinion?

Cloud of Lace prides itself in featuring lifestyle in Lebanon from a genuine cultural, artistic, historical & urban perspectives. My community of loyal blog readers is always hungry to read everything that is offbeat about Lebanon, and that’s exactly what I love to showcase.through well-researched articles and exclusive interviews, I tend to feature overlooked culinary destinations that offer authentic tastes of the cuisines they’re serving, emerging designers that produce impeccable locally crafted creations, Lebanese fine artists, boutiques, wine-making, and most recently we are covering the wonders in our skies through Wide-field Astrophotography (which is photography of the constellations, stars, meteorshowers, planets, and our beautiful galaxy, right from remote landscapes in Lebanon).

What motivates you to keep going with your blogging after all this time?

It is not east to maintain a consistent blog while having a full-time career, however, the persistence I have to make everything around me beautiful is always dominant. The psychological rewards of having a huge following base that is keen to read more about lifestyle in Lebanon, the conversations that each post manages to bring up in its comments section, the prestigious brand collaborations that I’ve done, and most importantly, the amazing blog contributors that I’ve managed to bring together… All these have made Cloud of Lace a part of who I am today as a person, elevating my very own everyday lifestyle.

Launched in 2011 by blogger and digital media specialist Hiba Khalil, Cloud of Lace covers everything from fashion and beauty to food and travel.
