> Ini­tia­tive, the global communications net­work within IPG Me­dia­brands ap­pointed award-win­ning cre­ative di­rec­tor Nick Childs as Global Chief Cre­ative Of­fi­cer. Childs joined the agency on Septem­ber 1, and re­ports di­rectly to Jim Elms, Global CEO of Ini­tia­tive. Childs will be charged with over­see­ing cre­ative story-build­ing and trans-me­dia con­tent de­vel­op­ment for Ini­tia­tive, which has of­fices in 73 mar­kets and works with clients in­clud­ing Unilever, SAB Miller and BMW.

UM MENA has ap­pointed Rodrigo Mavu as cre­ative di­rec­tor for the MENA re­gion. Mavu will be in charge of driv­ing the cre­ative and ideation process across the agency within the UM MENA client port­fo­lio. Mavu holds over 15 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in the ad­ver­tis­ing industry in Brazil and the UAE and has also been be­hind many award win­ning cam­paigns in the re­gion.

> FCB World­wide CEO Carter Mur­ray an­nounced the pro­mo­tion of Erika Darm­staedter to chief client of­fi­cer, FCB World­wide. In the newly cre­ated role, Darm­staedter, who will con­tinue to lead the global Beiers­dorf ac­count, will work with ac­count man­age­ment across the net­work to guide client strat­egy and en­sure best prac­tices are in place for the strong­est pos­si­ble client/agency re­la­tion­ships.
