How would you describe the evolution of your blog?

My blog is named My Small Obsessions and at first it started out as a lifestyle blog where I wrote about all of the things that I was Obsessed with – namely Fashion, Beauty, Food and Travel. After I had a child, my obsessions naturally changed and started to include all things that involve children. I took an extended maternity leave from my blog and now that I am back, it includes all of the topics I wrote about before but with a new focus on children.

How did you first decide to launch? What makes your content unique in your opinion?

After having my son I realised that there were lots of moms out there who are hip and fashionable but don’t have the time to read about fashion or children’s fashion. My blog offers short and quick reads for those moms about all things cool that I think they should know about. As a mom writing for an audience of other moms, I feel I understand their interests and how to write for them. What makes me unique is that I speak their language and relate to them .

What motivates you to keep going with your blogging after all this time?

Since I was a little kid, I have always loved fashion. I remember when I was 5 years old, I had a small yellow suitcase. I would put all of my new clothes in it and try each and every outfit that was inside in front of any guests that visited. They simply had to see all of my clothes and accessories! This evolved into not only a deep love of fashion, but also an unhealthy shopping habit. I decided to start blogging to write more about a topic that I am obsessed with and to bring to my readers everything new and cool that the fashion world has to offer. In addition to blogging about her ‘small obsessions’, Farah is currently seeking new opportunities to write a weekly or monthly column for a reputed publication. I have to admit that it has not always been easy to keep going. Blogging is a lot of hard work with barely enough appreciation. When I was pregnant and after I had my son, I simply did not have the time to spend on it. However, I love to write and I missed the feedback and support that I received from my readers. I missed being a part of their daily lives so I returned to where I left off.
