Fadi Ghosn has joined Japanese auto maker Nissan as marketing director/chief marketing officer for Nissan Middle East. He will report directly to Samir Cherfan, the company’s regional managing director. Ghosn, who holds a bachelor of business administration from Ecole Des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Montreal, boasts more than 24 years’ experience in sales and marketing. He joins Nissan from Ford where he held the position of director of marketing, sales and service for the Middle East and Africa. He previously held senior positions with General Motors in the Middle East and Detroit including that of sales director of GM’S Middle East Operations and the US auto maker’s regional CMO and Cadillac global brand development in Detroit. Nissan Middle East has experienced significant growth in recent years, culminating in its strong FY2014 financial results, which saw it announce record breaking annual sales of 219,129 units across the region, up 3.3% on 2013. In addition, Nissan Middle East has also initiated important changes such as the rejuvenation of its operations in Saudi Arabia as well as the expansion of its regional market focus to include Turkey.
