> Af­ter Rome, Paris, and Los Angeles, it was Bu­dapest's turn to un­veil its graphic iden­tity for its Olympic bid. The bid logo for the Hun­gar­ian cap­i­tal fea­tures a tri­umphant fig­ure sur­rounded by coloured con­fetti, which is is said to be based on the Statue of Lib­erty on Gellert Hill. It was de­signed by Bu­dapest's Graphasel De­sign Stu­dio and cho­sen from nearly 200 en­tries sub­mit­ted to the con­test. Las­zlo Or­dogh, the de­sign stu­dio's art di­rec­tor said: "We were think­ing about con­cepts, not just a de­sign" and the aim was to cre­ate a "fresh, youth­ful and lively logo." The an­nounce­ment to de­clare the host city for 2024 Olympics and Par­a­lympics will be an­nounced on 13 Septem­ber 2017.

> To hon­our Prince, the iconic singer­song­writer who died on April 21, MTV changed, dur­ing the en­tire day, its logo to pur­ple (in ref­er­ence to the 1984 film Pur­ple Rain) while it was air­ing mu­sic videos, archival in­ter­views, be­hind-the-scenes mo­ments and other footage on three of its net­works (MTV, MTV Live and MTV2) as part of a mul­ti­plat­form trib­ute.
