This more lib­eral stance on sex­u­al­ity is ex­pand­ing to more con­ser­va­tive Ara­bic speak­ing au­di­ences. Lgbt-in­clu­sive on­line magazine Mykali, re­cently launched in Ara­bic, eight years af­ter its de­but in English, fea­tur­ing LGBT and NON-LGBT artists, writ­ers and pub­lic fig­ures to dis­cuss these and other so­cial taboos. “One of the magazine's goals is to re­move thought-bar­ri­ers,” says founder and cre­ative di­rec­tor of the we­bzine. One of the celebri­ties fea­tured in the magazine is Riyadh-based acap­pella artist

famed for his Youtube par­ody “No Woman, No Drive”. “These artists are more lib­er­ated and speak up about so­cial is­sues like ho­mo­sex­u­al­ity and women's rights more freely.”
