This more liberal stance on sexuality is expanding to more conservative Arabic speaking audiences. Lgbt-inclusive online magazine Mykali, recently launched in Arabic, eight years after its debut in English, featuring LGBT and NON-LGBT artists, writers and public figures to discuss these and other social taboos. “One of the magazine's goals is to remove thought-barriers,” says founder and creative director of the webzine. One of the celebrities featured in the magazine is Riyadh-based acappella artist
famed for his Youtube parody “No Woman, No Drive”. “These artists are more liberated and speak up about social issues like homosexuality and women's rights more freely.”
