Stu­dents’ projects show­case: load­ing tal­ents

In this month's is­sue, Arabad wished to high­light a sam­ple of the best end of year projects by young tal­ents pur­su­ing a ma­jor in Ad­ver­tis­ing and De­sign, stu­dents who have just grad­u­ated. As rec­om­mended by their teach­ers, th­ese are some of the projects that got the high­est grades. From pho­tog­ra­phy to il­lus­tra­tion, from graph­ics to de­sign pack­ag­ing , those 16 projects are as di­verse as the cre­ative dis­ci­plines avail­able at the Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Arts & De­sign Fac­ul­ties of USEK, LAU, AUST and NDU. This show­case will al­low readers and the in­dus­try's com­mu­ni­ca­tion pro­fes­sion­als to take a peek at the stan­dard of de­sign ex­pres­sions and level of think­ing lo­cal uni­ver­si­ties are pro­duc­ing. One of Arabad's mis­sion is to show­case new tal­ents, and as­sist the next gen­er­a­tion of cre­ative prac­ti­tion­ers in getting the right and de­served ex­po­sure that helps them stand out in a highly com­pet­i­tive in­dus­try and land their dream jobs. Ac­cord­ing to a sur­vey con­ducted few years back by Yougov and, 76% of fresh grad­u­ates con­sid­ered find­ing a job as a top chal­lenge although ad­ver­tis­ing and mar­ket­ing emerged as the in­dus­try that hires the high­est num­ber of fresh grad­u­ates. "The com­mu­ni­ca­tion busi­ness is one of the rare in­dus­tries which of­fers this re­gion's youth a chance to ex­press their cre­ativ­ity and see their ideas man­i­fested in a tan­gi­ble way”, wrote Tanya Der­naika of Memac Ogilvy's Red Academy. “There's no short­age of young peo­ple dream­ing of a ca­reer in ad­ver­tis­ing, dig­i­tal, ac­ti­va­tion and PR. We truly hope ev­ery­one can sense the ben­e­fit of such a dis­play and the im­por­tance of high­light­ing lo­cal ad­ver­tis­ing and de­sign works with ini­tia­tives that will point the way for­ward, as we be­lieve one is judged by be­ing as good as his/her last work.
