ASDA’A Bur­son-marsteller ap­pointed Has­san

Fat­tah, the for­mer edi­tor-in-chief of The Na­tional news­pa­per and a se­nior ex­ec­u­tive with Brunswick Group, as Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor. He will pro­vide se­nior coun­sel to re­gional cor­po­rate and gov­ern­ment clients, as well as drive the firm’s new busi­ness and or­ganic growth in the GCC and wider Mid­dle East. Fat­tah was a part­ner with Brunswick Group from 2014 to 2017. Be­fore that, Fat­tah served as di­rec­tor of com­mu­ni­ca­tions at GEMS Ed­u­ca­tion, where he helped re­or­gan­ise the com­pany’s com­mu­ni­ca­tions, launch­ing new brand­ing and nar­ra­tive for the world’s largest pri­vate ed­u­ca­tion com­pany. As a jour­nal­ist, Fat­tah cov­ered the chang­ing dy­nam­ics of the Mid­dle East for some of the world’s most prom­i­nent news­pa­pers, in­clud­ing a long stint as the Mid­dle East cor­re­spon­dent for The New York Times. In 2007, Fat­tah helped launch The Na­tional, the re­gional English­language news­pa­per pub­lished in Abu Dhabi, and served as edi­tor-inchief of the pa­per be­tween 2009 and 2013. Flu­ent in Ara­bic and English, he holds a B.S. in En­gi­neer­ing from the Univer­sity of Cal­i­for­nia at Berke­ley and a Masters in Science from the Columbia Univer­sity Grad­u­ate School of Jour­nal­ism.
