Louis Vuit­ton draws on eL Seed for START char­ity

Re­gional street artist de­signs scarves us­ing sig­na­ture Ara­bic ‘cal­ligrafitti’ style

Mena/France Louis Vuit­ton draws on the skills of Franco-Tu­nisian street artist, eL Seed to par­tic­i­pate in its re­cent Foulards d’Artistes project, to recre­ate its clas­sic silk scarf us­ing his sig­na­ture Ara­bic ‘cal­ligraf­fiti’ style.

eL Seed has also de­vel­oped a win­dow in­stal­la­tion us­ing Louis Vuit­ton’s Alz­ers, the hard-sided lug­gage, mak­ing them the first prod­ucts to be de­signed by a re­gional artist for the brand.

The Alzer pieces will be auc­tioned for the ben­e­fit of START at the Christies Mod­ern and Con­tem­po­rary Arab, Ira­nian and Turk­ish Art Sale, later this month.

Born to Tu­nisian par­ents in Paris, eL Seed pre­sented his first Eu ro­pea n solo ex­hi­bi­tion in Oc­to­ber 2012.

He is cur­rently in Doha, work­ing on one of his big­gest mu­ral projects to date, for the Qatar Mu­seum Au­thor­ity.

STA RT is a non-prof it or­gan­i­sa­tion, set up by Art Dubai and the Al Madad Foun­da­tion. It of­fers art work­shops for chil­dren with spe­cial needs across the Mid­dle East re­gion and In­dia, along with refugees from Jor­dan, Le­banon and Pales­tine.
