TBU Mid­dle East opens Saudi of­fice

Saudi Ara­bia WPP-owned The Brand Union (TBU) has opened an of­fice in Riyadh.

The agency has been work­ing on client as­sign­ments, in­clud­ing Al Ra­jhi Bank, Tawu­niya, Fawaz Alhokair, Nova Wa­ter and Ab­dul Latif Jameel, from its base in Dubai for the past decade.

“With t he mar­ket now look­ing for more long-term part­ner­ships, we have de­cided to cre­ate a ded­i­cated team t o grow our l ocal client port­fo­lio fur­ther,” says Her­mann Behrens, CEO of TBU MEA.

“I have lit­tle doubt that Saudi Ara­bia will be­come ou r la rgest off ice in t he re­gion in the com­ing years.”

Tarek Khalil, pre­vi­ously as­so­ci­ate client di­rec­tor and now busi­ness di­rec­tor, will lead the ex­pan­sion and be re­spon­si­ble for so­lid­i­fy­ing the re­la­tion­ships TBU has in Saudi Ara­bia, along with build­ing new op­por­tu­ni­ties. TBU is cur­rently work­ing with Riyad Bank. Other re­cent wins in­clude Kuwait Fi­nance House, Qatar’s Ahli Bank, Dubai-based Libyan telco Lap Green and Abu Dhabi’s re­tail desti­na­tion project, The Dis­trict. The move fol­lows the agency open­ing in Qatar last year.
