Record year to UK tourism
2015 was a record year for the UK's tourism industry, as the country welcomed a total of 35.8 million international travellers. The figure represents a 4% increase compared to 2014 and marks the sixth consecutive year of growth. Over the last five years, visitor arrivals to the UK have now increased 20%. The country generated international tourism revenues of GBP21.8 billion (US$30.7m) last year, which was in line with 2014’s record breaking figure. The US, which increased 8% in 2015, remains the UK's most valuable tourism source market.
