Lufthansa to fly new A350 to Delhi

Delhi will be­come one of the first des­ti­na­tions for Lufthansa's new fleet of Air­bus A350 air­craft. The Ger­man air­line has re­vealed that its first 10 A350s will be based at Mu­nich Air­port from Jan­uary 2017, and the new long-haul jets will be de­ployed on the air­line's routes to Delhi and Bos­ton. The A350-900 air­craft will be able to carry 293 pas­sen­gers, with 48 seats in busi­ness class, 21 in pre­mium econ­omy and 224 in econ­omy. They will re­place Lufthansa's old A340-600 air­craft on the Delhi route, which of­fer a sim­i­lar num­ber of seats. Lufthansa has or­dered a to­tal of 25 A350-900s and the de­ploy­ment of the re­main­ing 15 air­craft has yet to be de­cided. The air­line's Mu­nich-Delhi flights de­part the Bavar­ian city at 1200 and ar­rive in the In­dian cap­i­tal at 2300. The re­turn ser­vices then leave at 0045 and get back to Mu­nich at 0530.
