US travel hit by Trump slump

De­mand for travel to the US de­clined 6.5% in the eight days fol­low­ing Pres­i­dent Trump's tem­po­rary travel ban on the cit­i­zens of seven coun­tries. Data from For­wardKeys, which com­pared the pe­riod with the equiv­a­lent days in Jan­uary 2016, found that as well as an 80% in book­ings from the seven af­fected coun­tries, book­ings from West­ern Europe were down 13.6%, from Asia Pa­cific down 14.0% and from the Mid­dle East down 37.5%.
