Ex-magistrate Walcott passes on
FORMER MAGISTRATE Theodore Walcott has died.
Walcott, 78, of Poinsettia Drive, West Terrace, St James, passed on last week Wednesday at a retirement home. The late attorney studied law in England and returned to Barbados, where he was appointed to the bench in the late 1970s.
Among his more notable cases was the coroner’s inquest into the death of Grantley Farmer, who died at the hands of police. Following his retirement from the bench in the 1990s Walcott went into private practice and retired last December.
He leaves to mourn three sons, his brothers and sisters and close friends former justice Leroy Inniss, QC, and Pamella Mayers.
Arrangements for his funeral are to be announced later. (AC)
