Gordon new RC head
NEW Archbishop Jason Gordon participating in the procession on the way to the Cathedral. (GP) PORT OF SPAIN – Jason Gordon is the new Roman Catholic Archbishop of Port of Spain.
Gordon, 58, formerly Bishop of Bridgetown, was installed at a ceremony yesterday evening at the Cathedral Of The Immaculate Conception. The service was attended by a number of dignitaries, including President Anthony Carmona and Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.
Gordon is the 11th Archbishop of Port of Spain and the third Trinidadian to lead the local Catholic church, following his predecessor Joseph Harris and the late Archbishop Anthony Pantin. Harris, 75, served as Archbishop since September 14, 2011, succeeding American Edward Gilbert. (Picture courtesy Trinidad Express.)
