Pig owner backs down, case dismissed
The four men accused of stealing 21 pigs and 12 bags of pig feed had their matters dismissed when they appeared in the District “D” Magistrates’ Court earlier this week.
Marlon Fitzgerald Boxhill, 41, of Lodge Hill; Kemar Shamar Turton, 21, of Lewis Gap, Green Hill; and Robert Dacosta Walker, 48, of No. 36 Seclusion Gardens, Black Rock, all in St Michael, along with Jamal Emmanuel Lewis, 31, of Foster Hall, St John, were charged with the offence, which was alleged to have occurred between June 19 and 20 at Greenland, St Andrew.
Boxhill, Turton and Walker originally appeared before Magistrate Laurie-ann Smith-bovell last Friday and were remanded to HMP Dodds, while Lewis received medical treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
However, when they reappeared before Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District “D” Magistrates’ Court on October 1, the complainant said he had no intention of pursuing the matters, and the cases were dismissed.
Lewis also had the charges against him dropped when he reappeared before Magistrate Weekes on October 3.
