Girl power shines in South­ern zone

Un­der the theme South­ern Kalei­do­scope, the parish tal­ent show for the south­ern zone was held at the Princess Mar­garet Sec­ondary School in St Philip last Sat­ur­day night be­fore a size­able au­di­ence. The parishes rep­re­sented were St Philip, St Michael and Christ Church, with their rep­re­sen­ta­tives all vy­ing for the top spot to rep­re­sent their parishes at the Spirit Of The Na­tion Show on Novem­ber 17. Af­ter the judges had de­lib­er­ated and the re­sults were in, Adri­anna May­ers, who rep­re­sented the parish of St Michael, came out on top with 230 points. She sang an orig­i­nal, He’s Mine. Also keep­ing it orig­i­nal from Christ Church was Man­disa Al­leyne, who did Re­vival, that earned her first place. St Philip will be rep­re­sented by Arielle Nurse, who did a song called Im­por­tant. Through­out the evening the parish am­bas­sadors who were present were in­tro­duced to the crowd and they de­scribed the var­i­ous ac­tiv­i­ties they have un­der­taken in their re­spec­tive parishes.
