Gun, drug ac­cused re­manded

A man on 19 charges that in­clude firearms, drugs, crim­i­nal dam­age, as­sault and theft was re­manded to HMP Dodds un­til Jan­uary 22, a longer than usual pe­riod, with his con­sent.

Yes­ter­day, Jer­maine Kenneth King, 31, of No. 274, 4th Av­enue Wind­ward Gar­dens, St Philip, ap­peared in the District “A” Mag­is­trates’ Court be­fore Mag­is­trate Kristie Cuffy-sargeant. He was not re­quired to plead to: • Reck­lessly and with­out law­ful author­ity or ex­cuse dis­charg­ing a firearm along Water­hall Land, Ea­gle Hall, St Michael, which placed Kerin Kirby, Khadija May­ers, Ri­hanna Kirby, Azaria May­ers, Glen­roy Gib­son and Or­lon Howard in dan­ger of death or se­ri­ous bod­ily harm.

• Us­ing a firearm while en­dan­ger­ing lives.

• Dam­ag­ing a car be­long­ing to Tif­fanie Simp­son.

• Dam­ag­ing a house be­long­ing to Ed­win Bai­ley.

All the al­leged of­fences oc­curred on Oc­to­ber 4.

He was also not re­quired to plead to steal­ing a $46 000 car be­long­ing to Deanna Dash Toy Shop Inc. be­tween Au­gust 22 and 23, and un­law­ful pos­ses­sion of a firearm and 14 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion on Oc­to­ber 26.

How­ever, he de­nied un­law­ful pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana, un­law­fully as­sault­ing and re­sist­ing Con­sta­bles Han­iffe Hare­wood and Shawn Clarke in the ex­e­cu­tion of their duty and dam­ag­ing a $42 shirt and a pair of $455.16 boots be­long­ing to the Crown, all on Oc­to­ber 26.
