Gun, drug accused remanded
A man on 19 charges that include firearms, drugs, criminal damage, assault and theft was remanded to HMP Dodds until January 22, a longer than usual period, with his consent.
Yesterday, Jermaine Kenneth King, 31, of No. 274, 4th Avenue Windward Gardens, St Philip, appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-sargeant. He was not required to plead to: • Recklessly and without lawful authority or excuse discharging a firearm along Waterhall Land, Eagle Hall, St Michael, which placed Kerin Kirby, Khadija Mayers, Rihanna Kirby, Azaria Mayers, Glenroy Gibson and Orlon Howard in danger of death or serious bodily harm.
• Using a firearm while endangering lives.
• Damaging a car belonging to Tiffanie Simpson.
• Damaging a house belonging to Edwin Bailey.
All the alleged offences occurred on October 4.
He was also not required to plead to stealing a $46 000 car belonging to Deanna Dash Toy Shop Inc. between August 22 and 23, and unlawful possession of a firearm and 14 rounds of ammunition on October 26.
However, he denied unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawfully assaulting and resisting Constables Haniffe Harewood and Shawn Clarke in the execution of their duty and damaging a $42 shirt and a pair of $455.16 boots belonging to the Crown, all on October 26.
Jermaine King was remanded to HMP Dodds until January 22, by consent.
