Gomelkhlebprom has plans to launch the production of “living” kvass in 2011.
The beverage will be made using special ferments instead of yeast. The technologists of the company are now working on the recipe of the kvass. They will come up with several types of kvass with various flavors.
The kvass will be put on sale in summer. The company is going to purchase a special bottling line for the new beverage. The kvass will be sold domestically and exported to the neighboring states.
The “living” kvass will have antibacterial properties similar to those of curdled or acidophilus milk.
