“Work­ing to­gether, we will over­come tem­po­rary dif­fi­cul­ties and will con­tinue our pro­gres­sive de­vel­op­ment,” said Pres­i­dent of Be­larus Alexan­der Lukashenko at a govern­ment ses­sion on so­cial and eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment mat­ters. “It will be a proper re­sponse to those, who claim the Be­laru­sian model is no longer vi­able. We will never aban­don the pol­icy we have de­ter­mined and ap­proved at the All-be­larus Peo­ple’s Congress,” stressed the head of state.

“The coun­try needs to: first, re­move econ­omy dis­pro­por­tions that evolved dur­ing the global cri­sis and con­se­quent re­vival, achieve a bal­anced for­eign currency ex­change rate; sec­ond, se­cure a high rate of a bal­anced eco­nomic growth; third, form a fa­vor­able in­vest­ment cli­mate and at­tract sub­stan­tial in­ter­na­tional cap­i­tal;

fourth and fore­most, cre­ate a modern, com­pletely in­no­va­tive struc­ture of the pro­duc­tion sec­tor”.
