Belarusian Railways, CTL Logistics have opened a new coal transshipment terminal.
Belarusian Railways and a private Polish forwarder CTL Logistics Sp. have started transshipping stone coal at the Nemeishchizna station (Grodno District), where a Belarusian-polish terminal Belpollogistics was opened this year.
The project is an example of mutually beneficial cooperation between the private Polish forwarder and Belarusian Railways, attracting additional transit of goods to the main line. It is important that CTL Logistics operates 1,435mm gage carriages on the territory of Belarus.
Belpollogistics was established in 2009 to build a terminal for transshipment and storage of bulk and hard goods. The first phase of the project has already been completed. A platform for overloading, sorting and storage of coal was commissioned, the necessary equipment was purchased. Two tracks (with a 1,520mm and 1,435mm rails) were laid, bridge balances were installed.
