Minsk Au­to­mo­bile Plant starts ex­port­ing buses to Colom­bia.

Pas­sen­ger ve­hi­cles have been de­vel­oped specif­i­cally for this coun­try and are un­der­go­ing tests. In ad­di­tion, spe­cial chas­sis has been de­signed for Ecuador. Their ship­ments will be­gin in late 2011. Around that time an assem­bly fa­cil­ity will start op­er­at­ing in Venezuela. It will man­u­fac­ture 5,000 buses a year.

MAZ in­tends to con­tinue build­ing up its exports to Africa, Latin Amer­ica and the Mid­dle East. In H1 this year the com­pany sold equip­ment worth Br1.6 tril­lion. Exports al­most dou­bled. Thus, MAZ share in the Rus­sian mar­ket rose from 11% in 2010 to 20% in H1 2011.

To­day Minsk Au­to­mo­bile Plant pro­duces more than 4,000 mod­els and mod­i­fi­ca­tions of ve­hi­cles, 12 ba­sic mod­els of buses.
