Belarus and China have signed an investment contract to build the residential district lebyazhy in Minsk.
It is the first major BelarusianChinese investment project that involves foreign direct investments. It will cost approximately $200-250 million and will be implemented in 2016.
The residential district Lebyazhy will comprise 33 residential buildings, with the total area over 180,000 square meters. Lebyazhy will have homes for nearly 20,000 residents. Half of them will live in houses built by Chinese workers using Chinese designs and standards. The money will be allocated by Chinese banks.
Apart from the residential district Lebyazhy the two countries have come to terms to build a five-star hotel Peking in Minsk, a multifunctional complex China Town, and a Belarusian-chinese technological cluster.
