Economy of Belarus - - NEWS FROM FREE ECONOMIC ZONES -

As of early 2012, the FEZ Grod­noin­vest had 90 res­i­dent com­pa­nies from 20 coun­tries. The av­er­age re­turn on in­vest­ment pe­riod was 1.5 years.

The year 2011 was very fruit­ful for the free eco­nomic zone with 45 new res­i­dent com­pa­nies reg­is­tered there. Among them are Medlen (flax and cot­ton san­i­tary prod­ucts), Bel­tech­noizol (build­ing and in­su­la­tion ma­te­ri­als), Ex­per­i­men­tal Plant Ne­man and other com­pa­nies that pre­sented promis­ing busi­ness plans in ma­chine-en­gi­neer­ing, met­al­work­ing, chem­i­cal and petro­chem­i­cal in­dus­try, wood­work­ing.

To­day the Grod­noin­vest in­vest­ment port­fo­lio also in­cor­po­rates a num­ber of beau­ti­fi­ca­tion and in­fra­struc­ture de­vel­op­ment projects of the Au­gus­tow Canal. At present, the search for in­vestors for this unique and promis­ing his­tor­i­cal site is un­der­way. Prospec­tive in­vestors will en­joy the ben­e­fits of the free eco­nomic zone.
