One of the major goals of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to help manufacturers secure a foothold on traditional markets and to explore new export destinations
Building up export potential is vital for Belarus as the country’s prosperity depends on the efficient operation of exporting companies and smart product promotion. One of the major goals of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is to help manufacturers secure a foothold on traditional markets and to explore new export destinations. BCCI Chairman Mikhail MYATLIKOV tells the Economy of Belarus Magazine about the work of the Chamber, challenges facing exporters and the secret behind effective sales promotion.
Mr Myatlikov, the main responsibility of the Chamber is expanding foreign economic contacts. What do you focus on while promoting cooperation between Belarusian and foreign businessmen?
The ultimate goal of virtually all our efforts is promotion of Belarusian products and services on foreign markets. Last year alone the Chamber arranged about 800 international events like forums, seminars, exhibitions and fairs, business matchmaking sessions, meetings with ambassadors and trade advisors of foreign embassies. I would like to emphasize that we assess the efficiency of our efforts not in terms of quantity but quality of the events. Each event is designed to achieve a certain goal like establishing new contacts, penetrating new sales markets, signing new contracts. We have 38 representatives in 26 countries worldwide. These people are mostly reputable and influential businessmen, natives of these countries. They facilitate the implementation of contracts signed
