Commission for Religious Organization donates Buddhist religious text
With the commemoration of 60th birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and with the financial support of around Nu.10, 00,000 from Royal Government of Bhutan, Commission for Religious Organization donated full sets of text Gyelsay Laglen, Shetring and the history of origin of our Dharma free of cost to the registered religion organization with Commission for Religious Organization .
Deputy Chief Program Officer for Commission for Religious Organization Mr. Phurpa Dorji said these are all accordance with the syllabus framed by the Commission for Religious Organization which was approved by the cabinet.
The main objective of the distribution of this text are primarily to help the lam and the teacher who teaches to the monk, gomchhen and nuns who could not give much teaching other than basics of alphabetical words and took long duration to teach since they don’t have syllabus as such but now with this distribution of this text, they can teach easily, he added.
He further said when the students compete for job in civil service job or even in the private sector, previously they were unable to compete since they don’t have the certificate from their institutes but from now these students who studies at Shedra’s and Gomdey’s and from the registered religious organization, they will get certificate and they can compete for job in the market if they wish.
Lopen of Samdrup Gyem Chodey from Begana Tsheltrim Dorji said, both the text has benefited tem a lot as through this text we come to know what should be done and what should not be done in our life.
He said in his Gyomdey he has around twenty three old aged people and all of them says that now after learning Gyelsay laglen, they had change their mind.
For instance, the regis- tered religious organizations are Tshoki Dorji Foundation, Khomshar Donga Yoesel Dargeling, Samdrup Gyem Chodey (Begana), Shedra Ogyen Chodzong Ngagyur Nyingma Buddhist Nunnery (Wangsisina), etc. and as of now Commission for Religious Organization had ninety four registered religious organizations. The Commission was started in 2009.
These distributions of text will be done annually to all the twenty Dzongkhag’s registered religious organization or even more than that if the commission gets budgets.
Meanwhile, the distribution of the text was distributed by the Chairman of Commission for Religious Organizations and Minister for Home and Culture Affairs, Lyonpo Damcho Dorji at National Library and Achieve, Thimphu on Thursday.
