Tarayana organises Food and Nutrition Workshop
With support from SAFANSI (South Asia Food and Nutrition Security Initiatives) project fund, Tarayana Foundation conducted two days workshop on Food and Nutrition starting from 1st August 2014 for 24 Buzip facilitators belonging to various communities that falls under Tarayana project areas. The programme was facilitated by Yuden Dorji, World Bank Consultant and Palden Wangmo, Buzip (ECCD) Coordinator of the Foundation. The programme was resource by Ms Kinley Tshering, Chief Horticulture Officer from Ministry of Forest and Agriculture ( MOAF) and Mr. Laigden Dzed, Nutritionist from Ministry of Heath touching the various topics of importance on Intervention towards food and nutrition security. There was an interactive discussions and group presentations on the various issues relating to the food and nutrition problems in their respective areas.
The main objectives of the program were to:
Consolidate the initiatives of different agencies towards addressing food & nutrition security
Form a technical working group from relevant agencies on food and nutrition security
Create awareness on food and nutrition security amongst our Buzip centre facilitators/ community leaders (women)
