Am­bas­sador of Bhutan to Mal­dives pre­sented the cre­den­tials

The Am­bas­sador of Bhutan to Mal­dives Aum Pema Cho­den pre­sented cre­den­tials to the Pres­i­dent of Mal­dives H.E. Ab­dulla Yameen Ab­dul Gay­oom on 25th of Au­gust 2014.

Pres­i­dent Yameen wel­comed the ap­point­ment of the new Am­bas­sador and said that the two coun­tries should fur­ther ex­plore co­op­er­a­tion in bi­lat­eral, re­gional and mul­ti­lat­eral ar­eas. He re­called the many high level vis­its be­tween the two coun­tries which had fur­ther strength­ened bi­lat­eral re­la­tions.

Aum Pema Cho­den con­veyed the warm greet­ings of His Majesty the King and the Prime Min­is­ter to the Pres­i­dent and the peo­ple of Mal­dives and ex­pressed her com­mit­ment to fur­ther pro­mote he al­ready close and friendly re­la­tions be­tween Bhutan and Mal­dives. She agreed that the two coun­tries should con­tinue to co­op­er­ate in ar­eas of shared in­ter­est and pri­or­ity.

Aum Pema Cho­den is the tenth Am­bas­sador of Bhutan to Mal­dives since the es­tab­lish­ment of diplo­matic re­la­tions be­tween the two coun­tries in 1984.
