Ly­onch­hen said the Move for Health ini­tia­tive is to make aware to the peo­ple about the need to keep one’s body fit and do reg­u­lar ex­er­cises which would pre­vent one from life­style re­lated dis­eases and non-com­mu­ni­ca­ble dis­eases whereby re­duc­ing the re­fer­ral cases and lower the ex­pen­di­ture of gov­ern­ment on health.

Mean­while, Bhutanese pa­tients are mostly re­ferred to Kolkata, Guwahati and Vel­lore in In­dia. The given stipends are meant for the pur­pose of food and the lodg­ing ex­penses only while ex­pen­di­ture on the treat­ment of the pa­tient is paid di­rectly by the gov­ern­ment through their li­ai­son of­fices.
