The Third Annual bilateral consultations between Bhutan and Australia ends
The Third Annual Bilateral Consultations between Bhutan and the government of the Commonwealth of Australia was held on 28th October 2014 in Thimphu. The Bhutanese delegation will be led by Mr. Kinga Singye, Director General, Department of Bilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Australian delegation will be led by H.E. Mr. .Patrick Suckling, Ambassador of Australia to Bhutan.
The bilateral consultation provides a forum for the two countries to exchange
Views on wide ranging issues of mutual interest and discuss areas of cooperation in various fields. The consultations are hosted by the two countries alternately in
Bhutan and Australia. Bhutan hosted the first consultations in 2012, and the second consultations were held in Canberra, Australia in 2013.
Australian assistance to Bhutan in human resource development and animal
husbandry date back to the early 1960s. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 14th September 2002.
