His Majesty the King graces the open­ing cer­e­mony of the Fourth ses­sion of the sec­ond par­lia­ment

His Majesty the King graced the open­ing ses­sion of the fourth ses­sion of the sec­ond par­lia­ment last Wed­nes­day. His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo was re­ceived in an elab­o­rate Ch­hip­drel cer­e­mony lead by the Speaker, Prime min­is­ter, min­is­ters, chair­per­son of the Na­tional coun­cil and the mem­bers of the Par­lia­ment. Fol­low­ing that Zhu­drel Phuentsum Tshopai cer­e­mony was ob­served at the Gye­ly­ong Tshon­gkhag . The func­tion was at­tended by Her Majesty the Gyalt­suen , mem­bers of the Royal Fam­ily, clergy , gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials , rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity and stu­dents.

The Speaker Jigme Zangpo in his open­ing ad­dress ex­pressed his grat­i­tude to His Majesty the King for grac­ing the oc­ca­sion and made spe­cial at­ten­tion about the high level ex­changes be­tween Bhutan and In­dia this year. He ex­pressed that through such vis­its, the Bhutan- In­dia re­la­tions have fur­ther strength­ened.

The Speaker in­formed the par­lia­ment that dur­ing this ses­sion the na­tional assem­bly will de­lib­er­ate on of­fice of the At­tor­ney Gen­eral bill, En­ti­tle­ments & Ser­vices Con­di­tions (Amend­ment) Bill for the hold­ers, mem­bers and con­sti­tu­tional of­fices, Jabmi (Amend­ment) bill, Com­pa­nies and En­ter­prise Reg­is­tra­tion bill. Fur­ther he in­formed that brief on Doha Amend­ment to the Ky­oto Pro­to­col to the UN Frame­work Con­ven­tion on Cli­mate change, statute of In­ter­na­tional Re­new­able En­ergy Agency and re­ports on the Im­ple­men­ta­tion sta­tus of the Res­o­lu­tion of the 3rd ses­sion and the re­view to be un­der­taken on the Elec­tion Act will be de­lib­er­ated.
