Thai del­e­ga­tion in Bhutan

His Ex­cel­lency Mr. Don Pra­mud­winai, Deputy Min­is­ter of the For­eign Af­fairs of Thai­land is lead­ing a 105mem­ber del­e­ga­tion from Thai­land be­tween 14 to 17th Novem­ber 2014 to cel­e­brate the aus­pi­cious oc­ca­sions of the 87th Birth­day An­niver­sary of His Majesty King Bhu­mi­bol Adulyadej of Thai­land, 59th Birth­day An­niver­sary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, 6th An­niver­sary of the Corona­tion of His Majesty the Fifth Druk Gyalpo and the 25th An­niver­sary of the es­tab­lish­ment of diplo­matic re­la­tions be­tween Bhutan and Thai­land.

To cel­e­brate th­ese aus­pi­cious oc­ca­sions the Royal Thai Em­bassy in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Royal Thai Con­sulate in Thimphu or­ga­nized a re­cep­tion on 14th Novem­ber 2014 at Tashi Taj . Com­mem­o­ra­tive postage stamps de­pict­ing Thai-Bhutan re­la­tions will also be launched by the Royal Thai Em­bassy dur­ing the re­cep­tion.

Yes­ter­day a Thai-Bhutanese cul­tural pro­gram was held at the au­di­to­rium of the Royal in­sti­tute of Man­age­ment, Sim­tokha.

As part of the cel­e­bra­tion, a team of med­i­cal spe­cial­ists from Thai­land con­ducted a Sur­gi­cal Eye Camp at Paro on l2th and 13th Novem­ber 2014. The eye camp has ben­e­fited almost 160 Bhutanese pa­tients suf­fer­ing from eye disorder.

Diplo­matic re­la­tions be­tween Bhutan and Thai­land was es­tab­lished in 1989, how­ever con­tacts be­tween the Royal Fam­i­lies of the two coun­tries were es­tab­lished as early as 1985.
